SilkRoad technology Announces Navarre Corporation’s Implementation Of The OpenHire Applicant Tracking System

Publisher and Distributor incorporates new recruiting management software to improve hiring process while reducing costs and increasing efficiency
Aug 22 2005

SilkRoad technology inc., the leading provider of human resources management systems announced today that Navarre Corporation has successfully implemented SilkRoad’s OpenHire applicant tracking system to streamline their hiring processes.

Navarre Corporation, a publisher and distributor of a broad range of home entertainment and multimedia products, including PC software, CD audio, DVD and VHS video, video games and accessories, is now using OpenHire to search for, identify and track candidates for positions throughout the organization including some with highly technical requirements.

Navarre had previously managed its applicants through a manual tracking process that is traditionally standard in human resource departments. Since implementing OpenHire, Navarre has gained the capability of centralizing its information into one database that is automatically organized by OpenHire for the recruiter.

OpenHire is designed to provide companies with a more efficient method of recruiting and hiring new employees. A major benefit of OpenHire is to expedite the hiring process by automatically sorting applicants based on their specific qualifications. The OpenHire process eliminates tedious and overwhelming paperwork, while filing applicants who may be an asset in the future. Navarre is now more able to focus on gaining premier talent, rather than expending valuable time and money on less productive methods of hiring.

With only three to four recruiters on staff and a previous process of obtaining resumes through e-mail, large amounts of paper and no unified application for the management of applications hindered the capabilities of the Navarre recruiters. For a company like Navarre that receives floods of applications a week, OpenHire completely revolutionized the entire recruiting process.

“Applicants would e-mail their resumes to me, so I was dealing with mountains of paper that were impossible to organize and search through to match with job openings. I didn’t feel like I was effectively managing the recruiting process,” said Nicole Burke, Recruiting Manager of the Navarre Corporation. “After evaluating a number of applicant tracking systems, OpenHire stood out with a user-friendly interface, great price, and the professionalism and attentiveness of the OpenHire staff. And best of all, I love not having all the paper on my desk!”

OpenHire centralizes all recruiting into one system, screening applicants through criteria and eliminating costs normally associated with importing resumes into a database. Its array of real-time reports gives organizations a tool to quickly evaluate applicant sources to improve future recruiting strategies. Recruiters also have the capability to access stored applications from remote sites while automatically moving applications through corporate checkpoints.

“SilkRoad is excited to add Navarre Corporation as another Midwest based customer,” said Brian Platz, Executive Vice President and General Manager of SilkRoad technology. “After evaluating multiple systems, they felt OpenHire provided them with a valuable and cost-effective solution to get to their desired 'paperless' environment.”
